Do I need RFID hardware to use Supercycle?
No. Every workflow works with QR codes and barcodes: print serialized labels from Supercycle and scan them with your phone camera in the Scanner app, or with any USB barcode scanner. RFID is an upgrade for speed: it reads whole shelves and bins at once instead of one item at a time.
Which tags work with Supercycle?
Any UHF RAIN RFID (EPC Gen2) tag. Sew-in threads suit clothing and textiles, stick-on asset labels suit electronics and hard goods, and hang tags loop onto items you can't mark permanently. Each tag's ID maps to a serialized item in Supercycle.
Can I mix QR codes, barcodes and RFID?
Yes. An item can carry a QR code and an RFID tag at the same time, and different parts of your catalog can use different methods. Every scan, whichever method, resolves to the same serialized item and its history.
How do tags get linked to my inventory?
Scan a tag while creating an item in the Scanner app and it's linked from that moment on. Already-serialized stock can be tagged later: scan the existing label, then the new tag, and the item carries both.
Do I have to buy hardware from Supercycle?
No. Supercycle works with any UHF RAIN RFID (EPC Gen2) reader or tag, any 1D/2D barcode scanner, and your phone camera for QR codes. Everything we resell is here because we've tested it for circular workflows, so you don't have to guess what will survive your products. Bring your own kit if you already have it.
