Protect your inventory, protect your revenue.
Layer identity verification, signed contracts, vaulted cards and deposits into your checkout — configurable per method, enforced automatically.
ID verification
Verify customer identity at checkout using Stripe Identity. Confirm both identity and likeness to reduce fraud and protect high-value inventory. Add verification to the thank-you page, send a verification link via email, or copy a one-tap link from the customer profile. Customers are tagged on completion so you can filter and act on verified status.
E‑signatures
Attach signed contracts to rentals — ESIGN, UETA and eIDAS compliant, with full audit trails and certificates of completion. Author HTML + CSS + Liquid templates with rental and customer variables, require multiple contracts per rental, and collect signatures at checkout, via email, from customer accounts or in store on POS. A contract_signed event fires once all contracts are signed, ready for automation.
Design fully branded contract templates with rental and customer variables baked in, and close the loop in store with POS signing on the device or by QR.
Card vaulting
Securely vault customer payment methods during checkout using Shopify's subscription system. Charge later for damages, extensions or late returns. Cards are automatically vaulted when required for rental orders, or customers can vault directly via permalink — useful when you create orders on their behalf.
Deposits
Capture deposits against rentals at checkout. Deposits are digital products linked to rental pricing — added to cart automatically and required before checkout completes. Refund through Shopify Payments within the card refund window, or fall back to PayPal, bank transfer or store credit for older deposits.
Frequently asked questions.
Which risk tools can I combine?
All risk tools work independently and can be combined. For example, you could require ID verification and a signed rental agreement before fulfilling a high-value calendar rental, while only requiring a vaulted card for subscriptions.
How much do e‑signatures cost?
Supercycle charges $0.75 per completed e‑signature. Generating or sending a contract is free — you only pay when a customer signs. You can require multiple contracts per rental.
Which identity verification providers are supported?
Supercycle uses Stripe Identity for ID verification, which verifies both identity and likeness. Other compatible Shopify apps like RealID, iDenfy and Engage Message also work alongside Supercycle.
What happens if a deposit can't be refunded via Shopify Payments?
Refunds processed via Shopify Payments are subject to a time limit (typically 120 days). After that window, merchants refund deposits externally via PayPal or bank transfer and record the refund in their accounting system.
Can customers sign contracts in store?
Yes. On Shopify POS, staff can hand the device to the customer to sign on screen, or display a QR code for the customer to scan and sign on their own phone. The POS screen updates automatically once they finish.
