What's the difference between the two MCP servers?
The Builders MCP gives AI tools read-only access to Supercycle documentation and API reference, useful when building integrations. The Operators MCP connects your AI assistant to your live Supercycle data so you can query and manage operations using natural language.
Do I need to write code for integrations?
Not always. Pre-built connectors for platforms like Patchworks enable no-code integrations with 3PLs, ERPs and other systems. Automations and Shopify Flow provide trigger-and-action workflows without code. The APIs are there when you need deeper customization.
Which AI assistants work with the Operators MCP?
The Operators MCP works with Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP-compatible client. It uses OAuth authentication with your Shopify account. Read tools are auto-approved; write tools request confirmation before making changes.
What can I add custom fields to?
Custom fields can be added to items, cycles and consignors to capture data specific to your business: sizing, fabric notes, condition specifics, internal references and more. Calculated fields sit alongside them and derive a read-only value from a Liquid formula over your custom fields and built-in system data, such as an item's time to breakeven. Use any of them in workflows, in reporting or via the API.
